The upcoming In the Land of Leadale anime has received a second trailer and a premiere date of January 5 in Japan. The trailer previews the voice cast and the opening song “Happy encount” by TRUE.
The anime will be streamed via Crunchyroll in January.
The anime is based on the KADOKAWA-published light novel series of the same name, which began 2019 and has seven volumes as of August 2021. The story originated as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou that ran from 2010 to 2012. A manga adaptation began in 2019.
Yen Press describes the light novels as:
The last thing she can remember is her life support beginning to fail. Her body had suffered terribly after a fateful accident and the only freedom left in her life came from the VR world of Leadale. How did she end up in a place that looks exactly like her game except that 200 years have apparently gone by?
In the Land of Leadale’s staff includes Takeyuki Yanase (By the Grace of the Gods) as director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma‑kun) as series composer, and Kujira Yumemi as music composer. Toshihide Masudate, Eri Kojima, and Kaho Deguchi, who were main character designers on I’m Standing on a Million Lives Season 2, are the character designers for In the Land of Leadale.
