Chinese video sharing service Bilibili has released a 6-minute proof of concept trailer and teaser visual for its upcoming 2D/3D animated series To Be Hero X. The series will be produced by Paper Plane and LAN Studio, with animation production being handled by Pb Animation Co. Ltd. and Bilibili’s B.Cool Studio

LAN Studio will reveal more information about the release of To Be Hero X at a later date. The series is also unrelated to the 2016 Japanese-Chinese anime series To Be Hero

The trailer features a male character fighting off a horde of black-suited men in an amazing display of both 2D and 3D animated spectacle. Singer Griff Clawson’s musical single “New Type of Hero” is also featured prominently in the trailer.

Rough storyboard sketches of To Be Hero X have also been released.

Bilibili describes the series as:

This is a world where heroes are created by people’s trust, and the hero who has received the most trust is known as – X. In this world, people’s trust can be calculated by data, and these values will be reflected on everyone’s wrist. As long as enough trust points are obtained, ordinary people can also have superpowers and become superheroes that save the world. However, the ever-changing trust value makes the hero’s path full of unknowns…
