The Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess manga is getting a TV anime adaptation, which will debut in January 2024. A teaser visual and trailer have been released.
Written by Robinson Haruhara and illustrated by Hirakei, the Shueisha-published manga began serialization in Shonen Jump+ in 2019 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of March 2023. The series follows, as per Manga Plus’ description, a “princess held captive, subjected to merciless tortures by the Hellhorde!” In contrast to the impression given by the anime’s teaser trailer and visual, the source material is actually a gag manga.
Youko Kanamori (Mars Red opening director and storyboarder, Great Pretender Episodes 14 and 21 director and storyboarder), is directing the Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess anime at PINE JAM. Other staff include Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun) as series composer, Toshiya Kouno (Schwarzesmarken sub-character designer) and Satoshi Furuhashi as character designers, and Masaru Yokoyama (Horiyama) as music composer.
The cast includes Haruka Shiraishi as the princess, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Ex, and Shizuka Itou as Torture Tortura.
