2024’s Doraemon anime movie has been announced with a March Japanese release date and the title of Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Chikyuu Symphony (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Earth Symphony).
Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Chikyuu Symphony‘s original story will involve the disappearance of music from Earth. Kazuaki Imai (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur) is directing based on a script by Teruko Utsumi (Doraemon scriptwriter, Sarazanmai co-series composer).
The previous and 42nd Doraemon anime film, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Sky Utopia, premiered in Japan in March of this year.
Doraemon was created by the late duo Fujiko F. Fujio, with the Shogakukan-published manga beginning its serialization in 1969. Under the Tentoumushi Comics label, 46 tankoubon volumes were published between 1974 to 1996, and were later followed by a Volume 0 in 2019. The first Doraemon TV anime series began airing in 1973, while the current TV series begin its broadcast in 2005.
