ABLAZE announced that it has licensed Masaaki Ninomiya’s horror thriller manga series GANNIBAL. The first volume of the series will be released in English print in November 2023 and volume two will be released in February 2024.

Ninomiya originally serialized the manga in Nihonbungeisha’s Weekly Manga Goraku from October 5, 2018 to November 26, 2021. A total of 13 tankoubon volumes were released.

The manga has been adapted into a 2022 live-action Japanese TV series that ran for seven episodes. The series was directed by Shinzou Katayama and starred Yuuya Yagira, Shou Kasamatsu, and Riho Yoshioka. It is currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

ABLAZE describes the story of GANNIBAL as:

In GANNIBAL, Daigo Agawa is a resident police officer who has been recently assigned to the remote mountain village of Kuge. He is initially warmly welcomed by the villagers, but with the suspicious death of an old woman, he gradually becomes aware of the anomaly of the village and begins to suspect that “The people in this village are eating people.”
