The KADOKAWA-published light novel series written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Hiten began publication in 2021 and will release its ninth volume on August 25. The books are published under the MF Bunko J label.

Yen Press describes the plot as:

After his father remarries, Yuuta suddenly finds himself with a new stepsister: Saki, the greatest beauty at school. Neither of them is sure how to act around the other at first, but the two gradually grow more comfortable living together. Slowly, cautiously, patiently, two strangers become more. So begins an unlikely love story.

The cast of the anime includes Kouhei Amasaki as Yuuta Asamura, Yuki Nakashima as Saki Ayase, Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru, Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Narasaka, and Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri.

Days with My Step Sister originated on YouTube in 2020 as a series of videos with illustrations and voice-acting (the anime’s voice actors are the same as the YouTube videos). The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation drawn by Yumika Kanae.
