A new key visual and PV trailer has been revealed for the currently airing Classroom for Heroes anime series, shortly after the broadcast of the 10th episode. The anime first premiered on July 9, 2023 and is streaming on Crunchyroll outside of Japan.
Both the visual and trailer highlight Blade, Sophie, and their classmates in an ensuing conflict against Sophie’s clones.
Keiichirou Kawaguchi (Spy Classroom) is serving as the director, with Naoki Hayashi (Higurashi: When They Cry – Sotsu) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Kousuke Kawamura (Remake Our Life) as character designer and chief animation director, Hideaki Nakano (Servamp: Alice in the Garden director) as assistant director, Yasuhiro Moriki (Date A Live IV co-mechanical designer) and Miki Matsuda (Healer Girl mechanical animation director) as monster and mechanical designers, and Koutarou Nakagawa (Fuuto PI co-composer) as music composer. ACTAS is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the voice cast includes Reiji Kawashima as Blade, Misuzu Yamada as Earnest Flaming, Nao Touyama as Sophie, and Hina Kino as Cú Chulainn. Other cast members include Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Maria/Mao, Aya Uchida as Iona, Eri Yukimura as Claire, Haruka Shiraishi as Jessica, Shuuichi Uchida as Clay, Tomohiro Oono as Cassim, Tomohito Takatsuka as Leonard, Konomi Kohara as Eliza, Rikiya Koyama as King Gilgamesh, and Tetsu Inada as Asmodeus.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Shin Araki and illustrated by Haruyuki Morisawa. Shueisha began publishing the series under its Dash x Bunko label in January 2015 and has released 14 volumes as of June 2023. The series also inspired a manga adaptation by Koara Kishida that was published by Square Enix in 2016.
