The Helck anime adaptation has received a new trailer and visual to promote its upcoming second cour, which begins its Japanese broadcast in October. The trailer includes a preview of the new opening song “Help” by Aimi.
The first cour begin airing in July.
Helck is based on the manga by Nanaki Nanao, which ran from 2014 to 2017 with 12 tankoubon volumes. It was serialized in Ura Sunday magazine and the MangaONE app and published under the Ura Shonen Sunday Comics label. The story takes place after the defeat of the Demon King at the hands of a hero. With the Demon King’s throne vacant, a battle kicks off to determine his successor. Unexpectedly, one of the participants is a mighty human called Helck, who claims to hate other humans.
The anime’s staff includes Tatsuo Satou (Atom the Beginning, Madan no Ou to Vanadis) as director, Yoshinori Deno (Sakugan chief animation director) as animation character designer, and Toshizou Nemoto (Bakuten!! series composer) and Mitsutaka Hirota (Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire series composer) as scenario writers. Satelight is the animation production company.
