Anime NYC has revealed that several hololive members will be making an appearance at this year’s event, which is set to be held in November.
November 17, the first day of Anime NYC 2023, will feature hololive Gen 0’s blue-haired songstress Hoshimachi Suisei in her debut U.S. performance. The performance will also feature hololive English -Myth-‘s Mori Calliope as a special guest.
The event’s second day will then turn the spotlight to hololive English -Advent-, the third generation of hololive English that made its debut in July of this year. The five Advent members, which include the agency’s first twin VTubers Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssguard, will appear for a panel dubbed hololive English -Advent- NYC Invasion.
Calliope’s presence on Hoshimachi’s upcoming performance mirrors the latter’s guest appearance on Calliope’s debut solo concert, New Underworld Order, in July 2022. The two VTubers have also collaborated on songs like Calliope’s “CapSule” and Hoshimachi’s “Wicked,” with the latter being co-written by Calliope as well. Fans have given the duo the pair name Death Star, referencing Calliope’s Grim Reaper lore and Hoshimachi’s celestial motif.
