The production team for the Detective Conan franchise has announced that a 27th film based on the anime series will premiere in Japanese theaters in Spring 2024.

A short 30-second teaser trailer for the upcoming film has also been released. The trailer features narration from Phantom Thief Kid, Conan Edogawa, and Heiji Hattori.

The franchise’s most recent film, Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine, was released on April 14, 2023. It was the 26th film overall in the long-running anime franchise and was a box office success all throughout 2023

The original manga series by Gosho Aoyama, released in English as Case Closed by Viz Media, was first serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday on January 5, 1994. A total of 103 tankoubon volumes have been released as of April 2023.

Besides a TV anime series, the manga has also inspired several anime films, OVAs, live-action dramas, audio CDs, and other spin-off media.
