Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku Arc Adds Kengo Kawanishi & Nobuhiko Okamoto to Voice Cast featured image

Voice actors Kengo Kawanishi and Nobuhiko Okamoto are joining the cast of Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku Arc, which is set to premiere on October 3, 2023. Disney+ will exclusively stream the series worldwide, excluding mainland China. 

Kawanishi is voicing Souya Kawata while Okamoto is voicing Haruchiyo Sanzu. They join other new cast additions that include Seiichirou Yamashita as Kakucho, Kouki Uchiyama as Shion Madarame, Daisuke Namikawa as Ran Haitani, and Hiro Shimono as Rindo Haitani.

The returning voice cast includes Yuuki Shin as Takemichi Hanagaki, Azumi Waki as Hinata Tachibana, Ryouta Oosaka as Naoto Tachibana, Yuu Hayashi as Manjiro “Mikey” Sano, and Masaya Fukunishi as Ken “Draken” Ryuuguuji (who was voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki in the first season).

Meanwhile, the main opening theme for Tenjiku Arc is “White Noise” by OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM. The ending theme is “Say My Name” by Japanese punk band Hey Smith

The returning production staff for the series includes Kouichi Hatsumi as director, Yasuyuki Mutou as series screenwriter, Kenichi Ohnuki and Keiko Oota as character designers, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi as music composer. LIDENFILMS is the animation production company for the anime. 

The first season of Tokyo Revengers ran from April 11, 2021 to September 19, 2021. The following season, Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc, aired from January 8, 2023 to April 2, 2023. The first season was streamed on Crunchyroll while Christmas Showdown Arc was streamed internationally on Disney+. 

The original manga by Ken Wakui was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 1, 2017 to November 16, 2022. A total of 31 tankoubon volumes were released in total. The manga has also inspired numerous manga spin-offs, a chibi ONA series, and three live-action films.

Kodansha USA releases the manga in English and describes the synopsis as:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!!
