A new key visual has been revealed for the upcoming second season of High Card, which is scheduled to premiere in January 2024. The new visual highlights the main members of the titular High Card group. 

The first season of High Card premiered on January 9, 2023 and ran for a total of 12 episodes.

Junichi Wada (Sakugan) is directing the anime series, with illustrator Ebimo as original character designer, Nozomi Kawano (Radiant) as character designer, Naoki Kuroyanagi (Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 script manager) as series screenwriter, BALCOLONY as card designer, Shunpei Mochizuki (Sakugan character designer) and Junichi Hayama (Golden Kamuy main animator) as main animators and action animation directors, and Takashi Hashimoto (Fate/Grand Order The Movie Divine Realm of the Round Table: Camelot Wandering; Agateram co-effects animation director) as main animator and effects animation director. Studio Hibari is the animation production company once again. 

Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes Gen Satou as Finn Oldman, Toshiki Masuda as Chris Redgrave, Shun Horie as Leo Constantine Pinochle, Haruka Shiraishi as Wendy Sato, and Yuuichirou Umehara as Vijay Kumar Singh. 

High Card is part of a multimedia project involving TMS Entertainment, Kadokawa, and Sammy that was first announced in June 2021. The project includes drama CDs, a manga, and a light novel. Homura Kawamoto, the author of Kakegurui, and Hikaru Muno, the author of the Kakegurui Trip and Kakegurui Joker light novels, are credited with the series’ concept and creation.

Crunchyroll is streaming High Card and describes the first season as:

After discovering that his orphanage was on the brink of closing due to financial stress, Finn, who was living freely on the streets, set out for a casino with the aim of making a fortune. However, nothing could have prepared Finn for the nightmare that was awaiting him. Once there, Finn encountered a car chase and bloody shootout caused by a manʼs “lucky” card.
