Katsuyuki Konishi, Taku Yashiro, and Takehiro Hasu are joining the cast of Kingdom for the anime’s fifth season.
Konishi is playing the role of Na Ki, while Yashiro and Hasu are playing Rin Gyoku and Zenou, respectively. See the released designs of their characters below:
Kingdom Season 5 will premiere in Japan on January 6 (effectively January 7 at 12 AM JST). Other new cast announcements include Kentarou Itou as Kan Ki/Huan Yi, Haruka Nagamine as Koku’ou, Kenji Nomura as Raido, and Motoki Sakuma as Ma Ron/Mo Lun, who are reprising their roles from earlier seasons.
Kingdom is based on the Shueisha-published, Warring States period-set manga by Yasuhisa Hara, which began in 2006 and has 69 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. The first season of the anime premiered in 2012, while the fourth season debuted in 2022.

As with seasons 3 and 4, Season 5’s staff includes Kenichi Imaizumi as director, Noboru Takagi as series composer, Hisashi Abe as character designer, Miyuki Abe as color designer, and Hiroyuki Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO as music composers. Pierrot and its subsidiary St.Signpost are again sharing animation production credits.
The anime’s cast includes Masakazu Morita as Shin, Jun Fukuyama as Ei Sei, Rie Kugimiya as Karyo Ten, Youko Hikasa as Kyou Kai, Susumi Akagi as En, and Kousuke Toriumi as Bihei.
The Kingdom manga, which is serialized in Weekly Young Jump, has also inspired live-action film adaptations, the third of which premiered in Japan on July 28.
