A second season of Toilet Bound Hanako-kun has been announced as the third part of the recent Hanako-kun project.
Also announced was a four-episode continuation to this year’s After-school Hanako-kun, a short anime spin-off which premiered in October. The After-school Hanako-kun sequel is the second part of the project and will premiere in Fall 2024.
The new Hanako-kun project was first announced in December 2022, two years after the first season aired in 2020. Voice actors like Megumi Ogata, Akari Kitou, Chika Anzai, and Daichuu Mizushima reprised their roles for After-school Hanako-kun, which was directed by Masaki Kitamura (Mobile Suit Gundam 00 assistant director) at Lerche.
The Square Enix-published manga series by AidaIro began serialization in Monthly G Fantasy in 2014 and has 21 tankoubon volumes as of August 2023. The After-school Hanako-kun manga debuted in 2018 and has been collected into a single tankoubon volume.
