The management team of Anime NYC announced today that the anime convention will now be held from August 23-25, 2024. It has also received approval to host their events in the entire Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, including the full main building.

As a result of the change, ticket sales for Anime NYC will happen earlier than usual, starting December 5, 2023.

According to the Twitter announcement post, the new event date and expansion will allow Anime NYC to sell more tickets (including weekend admissions), host more panels, and add other special features in areas such as gaming, cosplay, food, music, and more.

In an updated post on November 22, 2023, Anime NYC clarified that the December 5 sales date will instead be a three-day long pre-sale period, where a limited number of badges will be sold. The full sales of Anime NYC badges will now take place in January 2024, with a time and date to be announced later on.

The first Anime NYC was held in November 2017 and has taken place in November in the years since, except in 2020, where the event was held online only.
