A new trailer for Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki: 2nd Stage is here, containing more footage of Fumiya Tomozaki and the show’s heroines, plus previews of the DIALOGUE+ theme songs “Easy? Hard? Shikashite Susume!” and “Dareka janai Kara.”
Also revealed was the anime’s Japanese premiere date: January 3.
Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki: 2nd Stage is based on the Shogakukan-published light novels written by Yuuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly, which are published under the Gagaga Bunko label. The first season of the high school rom-com aired in 2021 with 12 episodes (2nd Stage will have 13).
Yen Press describes the light novel series as:
Tomozaki is one of the best gamers in Japan, and in his opinion, the game of real life is one of the worst. No clear-cut rules for success, horribly balanced, and nothing makes sense. But then he meets a gamer who’s just as good as him, and she offers to teach him a few exploits…
The Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki books began in 2016 and number 12 volumes, including two short story collections, as of January 2022. The series has inspired a manga adaptation by Eito Chida and a Minami Nanami manga spin-off by Bana Yoshida.
