The upcoming Shinkalion: Change The World anime has gotten a teaser trailer and visuals previewing its main character and Shinkalion designs.
The main characters are named Taisei Onari, Ryota Kuzuryu, and Akane Foren. All three are second-year middle school students. The Shinkalions are the E6 Komachi Toplifterform, E7 Kagayaki Drillform, and E5 Hayabusa Trailerform.
Shinkalion: Change The World is the latest anime in the Shinkalion (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion) project, which features transforming bullet trains. Previous anime include 2018’s Shinkalion the Animation, 2019’s Shinkansen the Movie (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion: Mirai kara Kita Shinsoku no ALFA-X), and 2021’s Shinkalion Z. OLM produced the first series and the movie, while OLM Team Abe produced Shinkalion Z.
The Shinkalion project was created by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions (ShoPro), and toy maker Takara Tomy and first announced in 2015. Before its creation, a concept model of an E5 train mecha was featured at Tokyo Toy Show 2014 by JR East. The Shinkalion toys fall under Takara Tomy’s Pla Rail series.
