Anime holding and planning company Twin Engine has announced the establishment of NAGOMI, a new studio with producer Fumiko Kaneko (Fuuto PI supervisor) as its president. NAGOMI’s activities will include animation planning, development, and production.

Twin Engine says that NAGOMI was founded to strengthen its production line, with the consideration of global expansion being part of the reason as well. It additionally revealed its prospective plans of getting NAGOMI involved in original IP development, licensing, and more in the future, beginning with works that are produced in cooperation with its group studios.

Other notable members of NAGOMI include Satoru Fujimoto (White Album 2 character designer) and Tooru Imanishi (Super Cub character designer). The two of them, as well as Kaneko, were formerly with Studio KAI.

NAGOMI, which came into being on January 4, will be the 15th studio that is part of Twin Engine’s EOTA (Engine Of The Animation) network. Some of those other studios include Studio Colorido, BUG FILMS, and Studio Kafka. (“Studios” is a generous term, as it’s also used to describe small sections like EOTA Compositing Unit, as well as Studio Colorido’s art department and team Yamahitsuji.)

Twin Engine was founded in 2014 by Kouji Yamamoto, who was formerly involved with Fuji TV’s noitaminA block.
