Daisuke Namikawa and Daisuke Ono are joining the cast lineup of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime for its upcoming third season.

Namikawa is playing Damrada, a man whose shadowy operations span the breadth of the continent, who works to pit Rimuru and Hinata against each other. Ono’s character is Granville, the head of the Rosso family who controls the western nations from the shadows.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 will premiere this April and will run for two consecutive cours. The first two seasons of the isekai fantasy premiered in 2018 and 2019, with the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond movie following in 2022. An OVA based on the short story that inspired the movie was released in November 2023. A spin-off titled The Slime Diaries premiered in 2021.

Crunchyroll describes the anime’s first season as:

Corporate worker Mikami Satoru is stabbed by a random killer, and is reborn to an alternate world. But he turns out to be reborn a slime! Thrown into this new world with the name Rimuru, he begins his quest to create a world that’s welcoming to all races.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is based on Taiki Kawakami‘s Kodansha-published manga, an adaptation of the MICRO MAGAZINE-published light novels written by Fuse and illustrated by.Mitz Vah. The manga started serialization in Monthly Shonen Sirius in 2015 and has 25 tankoubon volumes as of January 2024.

The light novel series debuted in 2014 and is based on Fuse’s Shosetsuka ni Narou web novel, which he began writing in 2013.
