The Frieren: Journey’s End anime’s X (formerly Twitter) account has revealed Mariya Ise to be voice of Serie, the powerful mage and “living grimoire” who was shown briefly last week in Episode 20.
The announcement also mentioned that Serie will make her (proper) debut in the 21st episode, which airs on February 2.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End first premiered on September 29, 2023 with its first four episodes. The second cour premiered on January 5 and is currently covering the “First Class Mage Exam Arc.” The fantasy anime is based on the Shogakukan-published manga written by Kanehito Yamada and drawn by Tsukasa Abe, which was the grand prize winner of Manga Taisho 2021 and one of the winners of the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award.

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2020 and has 12 tankoubon volumes as of December 2023. Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and Bilibili are streaming the anime.
