Six character visuals for the upcoming Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji anime have been released. Accompanying the new promotional material was the reveal of an April 2 premiere, plus the news that all eight episodes of the series will be aired in one go.
The visuals preview Kosetsu Samonji, Sayo Samonji, Ichigo Hitofuri, Namazuo Toshiro, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga.
Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji is the latest anime to be inspired by the Touken Ranbu sword-raising simulation game, which involves “sword men” defending history from an enemy who seeks to alter it. This series, which is based on a stage play of the same name, sees four sword men heading for the Honnoji incident, which saw the death of Oda Nobunaga.
Other Touken Ranbu anime include the Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- series, the Toku Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- Setsugetsuka movie trilogy, the Katsugeki Touken Ranbu series, and the upcoming Katsugeki Touken Ranbu movie.
