Ryoutarou Iwanaga‘s war action manga Pumpkin Scissors, which previously inspired a 2006 to 2007 anime series, is set to resume its serialization in the May 2024 issue of Monthly Shonen Magazine, which releases on April 6. It went on hiatus in 2020.
Set during a ceasefire between the Royal Empire and the Republic of Frost, the story follows the exploits of the eponymous Pumpkin Scissors unit, led by Alice Malvin and recently joined by the veteran Randel Orlando. Pumpkin Scissors made its debut in 2002 in Magazine GREAT and moved to Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2006. There are 23 tankoubon volumes as of 2019.

The TV anime adaptation was a GONZO and AIC co-production directed by Katsuhito Akiyama (Beyblade X chief director, Inazuma Eleven: Choujigen Dream Match director). It has 24 episodes.
A side story manga titled Pumpkin Scissors: Power Snips, drawn by Nobu Ootsuki, started in 2013 and has two tankoubon volumes as of 2019.
