A fifth new character visual and PV trailer have been released for the upcoming Oblivion Battery TV anime series, showcasing first year first basemen Taro Yamada. The anime is set to premiere sometime in April 2024.
Masato Nakazono (Chainsaw Man chief episode director) is directing the anime adaptation, with Tsuyoshi Iida as assistant director, Michiko Yokote (Tsurune, Call of the Night) as series screenwriter, Hitomi Hasegawa (Dance Dance Danseur) as character designer, and Tomoki Kikuya and Hiroko Yamasaki as music composers. MAPPA is in charge of the animation production for the series.
Other staff members include Junpei Tatenaka (Ace of Diamond) and Masahiro Tokumaru (Hanebado action animator) as action animation directors.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

The anime is based on Eko Mikawa’s high school baseball manga, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform on April 26, 2018. Seventeen tankoubon volumes have been released as of January 2024.
Oblivion Battery (also known as Bokyaku Battery in Japan) follows ace high school baseball pitcher Haruka Kiyomine, who greatly distinguished himself in middle school, and Kei Kaname — a catcher who is dealing with memory loss that is affecting his skills. They and several other players unite at their public high school to form a new baseball club.
