A second new PV trailer has been released for the upcoming The New Gate TV anime series, which is set to premiere in Japan on April 13, 2024.
The trailer also revealed additional cast members joining the anime, which includes Satoshi Mikami as Girart Estrella, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Wolfgang Estrella, and Kana Hanazawa as Cuore Estrella.
They join main cast members that consist:
- • Kensho Ono as Shin
- • Asami Seto as Schnee Raizar
- • Kaede Hondo as Tiera Lucent
- • Lynn as Rionne Strail Bayreuth
- • Yuki Hoshi as Kagero
Tamaki Nakatsu (Eyeshield 21: Maboroshi no Golden Bowl) is directing the anime series, with Hiroki Uchida (I’m Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness) as series screenwriter, and Itsuki Takemoto (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World co-sub character designer) as character designer. Yuya Mori (Kotaro Lives Alone), Misaki Tsuchida, and Tsugumi Tanaka are serving as music composers. Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts are in charge of the animation production.
The TV anime adaptation is based on the isekai light novels written by Shinogi Kazanami and first published by Alphapolis on December 27, 2013. Twenty-two volumes have been released as of November 2023. The light novel series has had three different illustrations over its publication run, starting with Makai no Junin for volumes 1-9, KeG for volumes 10 and 11, and Akira Banpai, who is the current illustrator for volume 12 onwards.
A manga adaptation by Yoshiyuki Miwa was launched on the Alphapolis website on November 11, 2014, with 14 tankobon volumes being released as of March 2024.
One Peace Books releases the manga adaptation in English, describing the main synopsis as:
