A TV anime adaptation of the Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time (Izure Saikyou No Renkinjyutsushi) light novel series has been announced with a January 2025 premiere window. A teaser trailer and visual have been released.
The anime is produced by Studio Comet with Naoyuki Kuzuya (Bikini Warriors) as director, Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend) as series composer, Sayaka Anezaki (the upcoming Tohai – Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku) as character designer, and Hiroshi Nakamura (Sweet Reincarnation) as music composer.
The cast includes Shogo Sakata as Takumi Iruma, Ai Kayano as Sophia Sylpheed, Nao Toyama as Maria, Afumi Hashi as Kaede, and Sora Amamiya as Goddess Norn.
The Alphapolis-published Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time light novels, written by Kogitsunemaru and illustrated by Hitogome, started in 2018 and have 15 volumes as of October 2023. There is a manga adaptation drawn by Taro Sasakama, which Alpha Manga describes as:
Not even a hero, Takumi Iruma gets accidentally mixed in with a group of heroes chosen to be summoned to another world. As compensation for the mix-up, a goddess offers him the right to choose any skill he wishes for! Hoping for a peaceful and quiet life that has nothing to do with fighting or going into battle, he chooses a seemingly boring creation skill. However, it turns out “alchemy” is the most powerful skill that allows him to create everything from a holy sword to flying ships! This cheat skill he unexpectedly acquired turns him into a wealthy merchant and makes him undefeatable in battles! A heartwarming adventure story about (possibly) the most powerful alchemist in another world!
