A fresh trailer and key visual have been released for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 to promote its upcoming “Teleportation Labyrinth Arc,” which begins on May 26 JST.
A special program will air in place of a regular episode on May 19.
The second season of the light novel-based anime is currently on its second cour, which began airing on April 7. Eighteen episodes have been released so far. Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and Bilibili are streaming the show.
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation adapts the MF Books isekai light novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. The first season premiered in 2021 and, like the current season, aired with split cours. The first cour of Season 2 premiered in July 2023.
Seven Seas describes the light novel series, which ran from 2014 to 2022 with 26 volumes, as:
Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, an unemployed 34-year-old shut-in thinks he’s hit rock-bottom—just as he’s hit and killed by a speeding truck! Awakening to find himself reborn as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat his past mistakes. He’s going to make the most of this reincarnation as he sets off on the adventure of a second lifetime!
The synopsis for Volume 12, which features Rudeus’ journey into the Teleportation Labyrinth, is written as:
Rudeus and Paul must descend into the deadly depths of a Teleportation Labyrinth to rescue Zenith. The father-son duo makes short work of deadly beasts and ancient magical traps, but it’s the terrible truth at the Labyrinth’s heart that proves the greatest threat of all. What happens when all hope is shattered beyond recall?
Mushoku Tensei began in 2012 as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel. The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation and multiple spin-offs. A spin-off light novel series, Mushoku Tensei: Redundant Reincarnation, launched in June 2023.
