HIDIVE has announced that it has licensed the fantasy action adventure anime series I Parry Everything: What Do You Mean I’m the Strongest? I’m Not Even an Adventurer Yet!. The series will stream exclusively as part of the service’s Summer 2024 simulcast season.
Ahead of the series’ July premiere, HIDIVE will host the North American premiere of the first two episodes of I Parry Everything! on July 4, 2024 at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, California. The premiere will take place in Room 403AB, located on the Level 2 concourse at the Los Angeles Convention Center from 1:30 PM PST to 2:30 PM PST.
The anime is the latest title in the slate of TV series acquired as part of Sentai Filmworks’ multi-year agreement with Mainichi Broadcasting System revealed in March 2023.
Dai Fukuyama (Dark Gathering Episode 1 co-storyboard artist; Beyblade Burst QuadDrive Episode 7; 15, and 52 storyboard artist and director) is directing the anime series, with Shigeru Murakoshi (Dark Gathering) as series screenwriter, Chikako Noma (Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again co-costume prop designer) as character designer and Tatsuhiko Saiki (The New Gate co-composer), and BeauDamian as music composers. OLM is in charge of the animation production.

The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series written by Nabeshiki and illustrated by Kawaguchi, which first published Earth Star Entertainment’s Earth Star Novel label on September 15, 2020. Eight volumes have been released as of May 2024.
The light novels originated as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on October 17, 2019. The series also inspired a manga adaptation by KRSG in 2020. J-Novel Club releases both the light novels and manga adaptation digitally in English.
HIDIVE describes the synopsis of I Parry Everything! as:
The Kingdom of Clays faces a dire crisis: an assassination attempt has just been made on its own Princess Lynneburg, and now its neighboring countries eye the aftermath like starving vultures, plotting the Kingdom’s downfall. The ensuing conflict will shape the face of the continent for centuries to come…but Noor doesn’t have a clue about any of that! Having freshly arrived at the royal capital after over a decade of rigorous, isolated training at his mountain home, he’s dead set on achieving his childhood dream of becoming an adventurer, even if the only skills he possesses are useless ones. Sure, Noor can “parry” thousands of swords in the span of a single breath, but everybody knows you need more than that if you want to be an adventurer! Our hero’s road to making his dream come true will be long(?) and arduous(?)—but if there’s one thing Noor’s not afraid of, it’s some good ol’ fashioned hard work!
