The series version of Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture will make its Disney+ debut on June 21, an update by Disney+ Japan’s X (formerly Twitter) account has revealed.

Comic Natalie reports that the episodes will be released weekly.

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture has a Japanese theatrical version that premiered on May 10, with the remaining three parts to begin screening on June 7, July 5, and August 2. The Disney+ release will have a 12-episode format.

The new Code Geass anime starts in the seventh year of the Kouwa era and follows the mercenary brothers Rozé and Ash, the latter an excellent Knightmare pilot and the former an intellectual who uses his smarts for negotiations, information gathering, and strategy. The two join forces with a Japanese resistance force to battle against Neo Britannica and free Sakuya Sumeragi, the captive daughter of Hokkaido’s murdered leader.

The original subtitle was Z of the Recapture. Comic Natalie reported that it was altered in light of world affairs (the “Z” symbol was used by Russia during its invasion of Ukraine).

The Code Geass franchise started in 2006 with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, which ran from 2006 to 2008 with two seasons. Other anime include OVAs, a recap film series with continuity differences, a sequel to the recaps titled Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled spin-off series. The franchise also includes light novels, manga, and video games.
