A January 11, 2025 start date has been announced for the sequel to 2016’s Mahoutsukai Precure! (Maho Girls Precure!), which has also been revealed to have the title of Mahoutsukai Precure!! ~Mirai Days~.
Mahoutsukai Precure!! ~Mirai Days~ will be a late-night anime with a 2 AM JST broadcast time. The show’s website features the tagline: “With the magic words ‘Cure Up Rapapa!,’ two futures will now connect!”
The existence of a Mahoutsukai Precure!! sequel was first announced in 2023. At the time, it was revealed that the show will be part of the ANiMAZiNG!!! late night anime block and that it was planned to be broadcast within the 2024 financial year. Animate Times reported a 12-episode length.
Also part of the adult fan-aimed project was Power of Hope ~Precure Full Bloom~, a follow-up to Yes! Precure 5 and Yes! Precure 5 GoGo! that aired in 2023.
The original Mahoutsukai Precure! was directed by Masato Mitsuka (Digimon: Ghost Game co-series director) with series composition by Isao Murayama (Bakugan: Legends) and character designs from Emiko Miyamoto (Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai). The 13th title in the Pretty Cure franchise featured a tale of “miracles and magic” with a magic and non-magic world and had 50 episodes.
Mahoutsukai Precure!‘s cast included Rie Takahashi as Cure Miracle/Mirai Asahina, Yui Horie as Cure Magical/Riko Izayoi, Saori Hayami as Cure Felice/Kotoha Hanami, and Ayaka Saito as Mofurun.
