JOCHUM Reveals Main Visual, Teaser Trailer & Voice Cast featured image

A new main visual, teaser trailer, and full voice cast have been revealed for Sanrio and Japanese boy band JO1’s upcoming JOCHUM TV anime series. The show will begin broadcasting as one-minute animated shorts this Summer 2024 as part of Fuji TV’s edutainment program “MEZAMASHI Saturday.” 

The main voice cast of JOCHUM consists of many young actors, which includes: 

  • • Yuri Noguchi as PiHai
  • • Kaito Takeda as Rain
  • • Taichi Kusano as Micoon
  • • Nanami Yoshimura as Chimata
  • • Shoma Uno as Ya-nu-ka-mi
  • • Sakura Kawaguchi as MAMEchi
  • • Momo Ishibashi as Pop-poh
  • • Masato Sugiyama as Chulala
  • • Mahana Yamasaki as Moco
  • • Kanon Amane as Ruru
  • • Yudai Mino as Bira

Hazumu Sakuta (Sumikko Gurashi Sorairo no Mainichi) is directing the anime and Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu, Yokai Watch) is serving as screenwriter and scriptwriter. FANWORKS is handling the animation production for the series. 

JOCHUM consists of 11 characters that represent each member of JO1 and a respective Sanrio mascot, who all live in a single home. They include PiHai the black fox (Sukai Kinjo), Rain the blue fox (Ren Kawashiri), Micoon the microphone (Junki Kono), Chimata the rabbit (Syoya Kimata), Yanukami the dragon (Sho Yonashiro), Mamechi the corgi (Issei Mamehara), Pop-poh the penguin (Takumi Kawanishi), Chulala the chihuahua (Shion Tsurubo), Moco the angel (Shohei Ohira), Ruru the white dog (Ruki Shiroiwa), and Bira the sunflower (Keigo Sato).

JO1 was formed during the airing of Lapone Entertainment’s Produce 101 Japan reality show in 2019. The band first debuted in 2020, and they collaborated with Sanrio to create the JOCHUM characters in 2022.
