A new main PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Plus-Sized Elf TV anime series, which will begin broadcasting in Japan on July 6, 2024.
The trailer highlights the first monster girl character Elfuda receiving massage treatments to help deal with her weight, as well as many other monster girls that come asking for the masseurs’ help.
Toshikatsu Tokoro (Soul Link) is directing the anime, with Katsuyuki Sato (Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!) as character designer, Yuuki Takabayashi (We Love Rice) as series screenwriter, and Cher Watanabe (The Prince of Tennis, Maken-Ki!) as music composer. Elias is in charge of the animation production.

Synedoche’s original manga series was first serialized digitally on Wani Books’ Comic Gum website from December 21, 2016 to June 17, 2020. Wani Books’ license for the manga expired in 2020, and the manga entered a short hiatus. Synecdoche then self published the 46th and 47th chapters of the manga on their Twitter account between April 30, 2021 and May 29, 2021. Eight total tankobon volumes were released during its publication.
Akita Shoten acquired the manga’s publication rights and reprinted the series between June 20, 2022 and February 20, 2023. Shortly after, a new sequel manga series titled Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping! was launched in Dokodemo Young Champion on October 26, 2021, with three tankobon volumes released as of January 2024. A fourth volume is due out on August 20, 2024.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both manga series for release in English for North America.
HIDIVE will stream Plus-Sized Elf uncensored during the Summer 2024 season, describing the main synopsis as:
Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about to head home for the day when he’s saddled with a rather strange patient. This lovely lady has emerald eyes, pointy ears, and grew up in the forest — everything about her screams “elf,” except for one thing: her bodacious body. It turns out she left her world but loves junk food in this one, and now her obsession has caught up with her. Can Naoe-kun help this loveable elf girl lose the weight — and keep it off?
