A Cloverworks original anime titled Grotesque has been announced and is expected to premiere in 2025.
It’s director is Atsushi Nishigori, whose past credits include Darling in the Franxx (director and co-series composer et al.), The Idolmaster (director and character designer et al.), Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 (chief animation director and co-character designer), and Gurren Lagann (character designer et al.)
A promotional video that previews several female characters, a peppy electronic pop song, and a number of visual styles was released as well. Weapons and monsters can also be seen.
The video ends by displaying the logo of JOEN, the joint initiative between WIT STUDIO, CloverWorks, Shueisha, and Aniplex that was announced in 2022.
