Arc System Works America has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers TV anime series during its Anime Expo 2024 panel. The anime adaptation will premiere sometime in 2025.
The trailer details the story’s main plotline and characters, as well as the production staff members, main cast, and premiere date.
The anime’s main voice cast stars:
- • Issei Miyazaki as Sin Kiske
- • Joji Nakata as Sol Badguy
- • Yui Ishikawa as Unika
- • Tomokazu Sugita as Narrator
Shigeru Morikawa is directing Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers (Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 1000% The Familiar of Zero: Rondo of Princesses director), having also contributed to the storyboards of Guilty Gear Strive‘s “Find Your One Way” music video. 3DCG animation studio Sanzigen is in charge of the animation production.
Other staff include Norimitsu Kaiho (Astra Lost in Space series composer, Guilty Gear X: The Butterfly and Her Gale author, Guilty Gear 2 -Overture- scenario writer) as scriptwriter, Daisuke Ishiwatari as original character designer, and Seiji Mizushima (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Fullmetal Alchemist director) as associate producer.
The anime is based on the 2021 fighting game Guilty Gear Strive, which is the latest entry in Arc System Works‘ long-running Guilty Gear fighting game series that began in 1998. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass, and Steam.
Arc System Works America describes the synopsis as:
After the decline of the once robust fields of science and technology, a new energy source known as magic fuels the modern era. Humanity creates forbidden biological weapons: Gears. Those Gears eventually stand against humanity in a rebellion. Although they manage to overcome in the struggle for survival known as the Crusades, humanity’s losses are so great that even after several decades pass, their emotional wounds remain unable to fully heal.
Sin Kiske, the child of a human and a Gear, heads to his father Ky and mother Dizzy’s wedding ceremony. Their wedding breaks the ultimate taboo: a union between a human and a Gear. Even with the world at peace, it took many years for such a ceremony to come to fruition. Despite the complex array of emotions surrounding it, the wedding ceremony is met with blessings. When suddenly, a mysterious girl appears… The fated child inheriting Gear blood – and the mysterious girl who despises Gears. Their meeting would shake the world.
