The Given: Umi E anime movie will begin screening in Japan on September 20 JST. A main trailer and visual have been released as well.
Given: Umi E is the Part 2 to January’s Given: Hiiragi Mix. Both are sequels to the 2019 Given TV anime and the 2020 Given movie.
The Given anime are inspired by the Shinshokan-published manga by Natsuki Kizu, which began serialization in Chéri+ in 2013 and released its ninth and final tankoubon volume in September 2023. SuBLime describes the manga as:
Ritsuka Uenoyama is bored with it all—with school, with his basketball club, and even with his one true passion: playing guitar. That is, until the day he finds his favorite hidden napping spot occupied by a strange boy cradling a broken-stringed guitar. At first, Uenoyama is nonplussed by Mafuyu Sato and his slightly odd behavior, but when, on a whim, he asks Mafuyu to sing, the power of that song pierces him to the core.
The original manga has also inspired a spin-off titled Given 10th mix.
