Voice actress Rina Sato is joining the voice cast of the currently airing Mission: Yozakura Family TV anime series. The anime first premiered in Japan on April 7, 2024.
Sato joins the cast as Hakuja, a member of the sinister organization Tanpopo and a user of Hazakura, an imitation drug of the Yozakura family’s Somenin bloodline powers. Her character appeared in the anime’s 19th episode earlier today.
Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, The Dungeon of Black Company, Sasaki and Peeps) is serving as director and screenwriter, with Mizuki Takahashi (Kizuna no Allele co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Sus4’s Koji Fujimoto (Ragna Crimson) and Osamu Sasaki (Ragna Crimson) as music composers. SILVER LINK is handling the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

- • Kaede Hondo as Mutsumi Yozakura
- • Katsuyuki Konishi as Kyoichiro Yozakura
- • Akari Kito as Futaba Yozakura
- • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shinzou Yozakura
- • Aoi Yuki as Shion Yozakura
- • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kengo Yozakura and Goliath
- • Yumi Uchiyama as Nao Yozakura
The series is based on the action comedy manga by Hitsuji Gondaira, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 26, 2019. Twenty-five tankobon volumes have been released as of August 2024.
The anime has been listed in Hulu’s April lineup as a Hulu Original title in the United States. Disney+ is streaming the series in other select territories outside Japan.
VIZ Media releases the Mission: Yozakura Family manga in English, describing the synopsis as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her — and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
