Five new voice cast members are joining the upcoming Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister TV anime series. The anime will begin broadcasting in Japan on October 1, 2024 and will run for a total of 24 episodes.
The new cast members include:
- • Koji Yusa as Miemon Kitashirakawa
- • Yui Horie as Yomiko Tsukigami
- • Haruka Shiraishi as Makoto Takeda
- • Ayasa Ito as Mitsuko Umenoki
- • Natsuko Abe as Karen Matsugazaki
They join the anime’s main cast, which is headlined by:
- • Ryota Suzuki as Uryuu Kamihate
- • Sumire Uesaka as Yae Amagami
- • Kaede Hondo as Yuna Amagami
- • Shion Wakayama as Asahi Amagami
- • Nana Mizuki as Mahiru Anekoji
- • Chika Anzai as Shirahi Tsuruyama
In addition, the anime’s ending theme “Kimi ni Koi wo Musunde” will be performed by Uesaka, Hondo, and Wakayama, who are all credited as “The Amagami Sisters.” Meanwhile, Momoiro Clover Z will perform the opening theme “Yawaku Koishite ~Zutto Bokura de Iraremasu you ni~.”
Yujiro Abe (Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, Konosuba Season 3) is directing the anime series, with Hiroshi Watanabe (Meiji Tokyo Renka: Yumihari no Serenade and Meiji Tokyo Renka: Hanakagami no Fantasia director) as assistant director, Yasuko Aoki (The Demon Prince of the Momochi House) as series screenwriter, Haruko Izuka (Josee, the Tiger and the Fish, Horimiya) as character designer, and Ryo Kawasaki and Tomoyuki Kono as music composer. Drive is in charge of the animation production for the anime.
The anime is based on the romantic comedy manga by Marcey Naito, which originally started as a one-shot that was released in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on December 2, 2020. It was then serialized in the same magazine on April 21, 2021 and has released 16 tankobon volumes as of August 2024. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English for North America.
Crunchyroll will stream the Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister anime worldwide, and describes the synopsis as:
Uryu Kamihate is a high school student striving to enter Kyoto University’s medical school.
After being raised at an orphanage, Uryu is taken in by the chief priest at Amagami Shrine, where he begins to live as a freeloader — and to cohabit with Yae, Yuna, and Asahi, the three beautiful shrine maiden sisters! What’s more, the condition he must meet in order to live at the shrine for free is to marry into the family and inherit the shrine!
How will Uryu overcome his marriage meetings with the three sisters as well as the many challenges that Amagami Shrine faces?
