The 30-second trailer highlights the main character finding himself turned into a cat and being cared for by his boss.

Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:

- • Kana Hanazawa as Pun-chan
- • Tomokazu Seki as President
- • Ayaka Ohashi as Tepu-chan
- • Kenjiro Tsuda as Itoyanagi-sensei
The original web manga series by Yajima was first published on the author’s Twitter account in February 2023. Kadokawa Shoten later serialized the manga on its KadoComi website on October 2, 2023. Three tankobon volumes have been released as of September 2024.
The original manga was nominated at the Ninth Next Manga Awards in 2023, placing second overall in the web manga category. It can be read for free in English on the series’ official Twitter account, with the translations being handled by AI localization company Orange (not to be confused with the animation studio of the same name).

The main premise of Neko Oji focuses on an ordinary old man who is suddenly reincarnated as a cute cat. He is then adopted by the president of the company he used to work at.
