The opening and ending animation sequences for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 can now be viewed on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel. They made their debuts in the recently released second episode of the anime.

The opening for Re:ZERO Season 3, which features a well-animated clash between the Royal Candidates’ camps and the Witch Cult during the chorus section, is storyboarded and unit directed by the new season’s director Masahiro Shinohara

Meanwhile, the more heavily composited and evocative ending sequence, which has animation flexes of its own, is storyboarded, unit directed, and partially key animated by Takashi Mamezuka (The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 ED, The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc sub-character designer et al.).

Re:ZERO Season 3’s opening song is Konomi Suzuki‘s “Reweave,” while the ending song is MYTH & ROID‘s “Nox Lux.”

Re:ZERO Season 3 had its premiere on October 2 JST with a 90-minute special. Currently, it has been announced that the new season will have two non-consecutive eight-episode arcs — the current “Shougeki-hen” (“Assault Arc”) and “Hangeki-hen” (Counter-attack Arc”). “Hangeki-hen” will begin airing on February 5, 2025 JST.

The first two seasons of the White Fox-produced anime premiered in 2016 and 2020, with the second season having a split-cour format. (Season 2’s second cour premiered in January 2021. In July 2020, Tsunaki Yoshikawa, the animation producer of the first two seasons, founded Atelier Pontdarc.) The show is based on the MF Bunko J light novels written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichiro Otsuka, the first volume of which Yen Press describes as:

Subaru Natsuki was just trying to get to the convenience store but wound up summoned to another world. He encounters the usual things–life-threatening situations, silver haired beauties, cat fairies–you know, normal stuff. All that would be bad enough, but he’s also gained the most inconvenient magical ability of all–time travel, but he’s got to die to use it. How do you repay someone who saved your life when all you can do is die?
