The My Hero Academia anime will approach its end next year with the newly announced My Hero Academia Final Season.

A teaser trailer and a teaser visual illustrated by co-character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi were also released.

The first My Hero Academia season started airing in 2016. Season 7 arrived in May 2024 and ran until October 12 JST.

The anime adapts the Weekly Shonen Jump manga by Kohei Horikoshi, which began in 2014 and ended on August 5, 2024 JST. Aside from the TV series, there are four anime movies, the latest being this year’s My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next

Viz Media describes the My Hero Academia manga as:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
