The Steins;Gate visual novel is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Amidst its various recent anniversary initatives, MAGES has now released a video that looks back on the entries in the series, from the 2009 original and its spin-offs to the midquel Steins;Gate 0 and the remaster, Steins;Gate Elite.

Near the end is a message that thanks the fans for their support and also states that “STEINS;GATE will continue.” Additionally, the video ends with the sound of a phone ringing, providing another vague teaser for the series’ fans.

Steins;Gate was first released for Xbox 360 in October 2009. The sci-fi visual novel, which is part of the Science Adventure series, has inspired a 2011 TV anime and 2013 anime movie, as well as other media like manga. Steins;Gate 0 also has its own anime adaptation.

Steam describes the game as:

STEINS;GATE follows a rag-tag band of tech-savvy young students who discover the means of changing the past via mail, using a modified microwave. Their experiments into how far they can go with their discovery begin to spiral out of control as they become entangled in a conspiracy surrounding SERN, the organisation behind the Large Hadron Collider, and John Titor who claims to be from a dystopian future.

Interaction with the game takes place through the “phone trigger” system, where the player can receive calls and text messages and decide whether to reply to them or not, changing the outcome of the game’s plot.

Anime Trending recently had the chance to speak with Steins;Gate producer Tatsuya Matsubara, so stay tuned for our upcoming interview.
