Sousei no Aquarion: Myth of Emotions, the fourth anime title in the Aquarion franchise, will begin airing in January 2025.
Accompanying that announcement was the release of a key visual and the reveal that Enoshima is Aquarion: Myth of Emotions‘ setting. Some staff details were also revealed:
• Creator, supervisor, and Aquarion designer: Shoji Kawamori (Aquarion Evol co-creator and chief director et al., Macross: Do You Remember Love? co-director)
• Director: Kenji Itoso (Santa Company chief director et al., Fire Force Season 2 ending 1 and 2 director, Macross Delta Zettai Live unit director)
• Series composer: Sadayuki Murai (Natsume’s Book of Friends, Knights of Sidonia)
• Character designer: Masashi Kudo (Bleach)
• Music composer: Takashi Ohmama (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury)
• Music composer: Shu Kanematsu (The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses)
• Animation production: Satelight
The original Aquarion anime, Genesis of Aquarion (or simply Aquarion), aired in 2005 with 26 episodes. It was later followed by 2012’s Aquarion Evol and 2015’s Aquarion Logos. All of the shows were produced by Satelight. Eight Bit co-produced Aquarion Evol while C2C co-produced Aquarion Logos.
There has also been a movie (2007’s Aquarion: The Movie) and an OVA (2015’s Sousei no Aquarion Evol).
