Promise of Wizard is based on a simulation mobile game developed by coly that was released in Japan in 2019. The game has inspired two manga adaptations from Ichijinsha that were released in 2020 and 2024, respectively. The first manga series released three total tankobon volumes. It also inspired several stage plays and radio web drama series.
QooApp describes the source material as a “mobile otome game where players have to train different wizards to defend the world” from chaos caused by the moon.

The main story of the Promise of Wizard follows Akira Masaki, an ordinary young woman from Earth who is summoned to a magical fantasy world to train wizards from five different nations in order to fight against a supernatural menace known as “The Great Calamity.”
