During the fifth Overlap Bunko All-Star Roundup Special livestream event, a new key visual, PV trailer, more cast, and main theme songs were revealed for the upcoming Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four! TV anime series. The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in January 2025.
The trailer previews the anime’s opening theme “Isekai Kyosokyoku” by Kentaro Seino, while the ending theme is “Tsuyo Girlfriend” by music project otonari.
Additionally, the four new cast members joining the anime adaptation include:
- • Takanori Hoshino as Sylphid
- • Nene Hieda as Gnome
- • Chitose Morinaga as Orle
- • Ayami Tsukui as Nia
They join a main voice cast that stars Yuki Ono as Dennosuke Uchimura, Konomi Kohara as Urmander, and Akio Otsuka as Dark King.
Michio Fukuda (Failure Frame, Terra Formars Revenge) will be directing the anime, with Seung Deok Kim as assistant director, Hiroko Fukuda (Taisho Otome Fairy Tale, You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story) as series screenwriter, Ayumi Nishihata (Migi & Dali) as character designer, Ken Naito (ATRI: My Dear Moments) as art director, and Takafumi Wada (The Seven Deadly Sins, Seraph of the End) as music composer. GEEKTOYS and CompTown are in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the manga series written by Benigashira and illustrated by Muramitsu. It was first serialized on Overlap’s Comic Gardo manga website on December 27, 2019 and has released nine tankobon volumes as of July 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English for North America.
Crunchyroll will stream Headhunted to Another World worldwide, outside of Japan. It describes the main synopsis as:
The Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon King’s army reign over a certain alternate world, and the one chosen as the fourth of them… is none other than an ordinary salaryman, Uchimura Dennosuke! After being headhunted by the Demon King’s army, Uchimura is welcomed into a director-level position… but business in the Demon King’s army is one life-or-death mission after another! Since Uchimura has no particular powers, he must tackle every challenge he faces in this new world using the experience and knowledge of a salaryman! This career change isekai tale is for all the working folks out there!
