The latest character concept video has been unveiled for the To Be Hero X donghua series, highlighting fifth-ranked heroes Little Johnny and Big Johnny, who are known as The Johnnies. The series is scheduled to air in Japan on Fuji TV in 2025 and Crunchyroll will stream the anime worldwide, excluding Asia.
The video previews the characters’ main theme song “growL” by one of the series’ main music composers Misaki Umase.
Li Haolin is credited with the original work and is serving as director for the donghua, in collaboration with bilibili and Aniplex. Hiroyuki Sawano is composing the show’s main theme song “Jeopardy.” Sawano, Kohta Yamamoto, Kenmochi Hidefumi, DAIKI (AWSM.), Shuhei Mutsuki, Hideyuki Fukasawa, Umase, and Ryuichi Takada (monaca) are all serving as music composers. BeDream is in charge of the animation production.

The first To Be Hero donghua series aired in Japan for 12 episodes from October to December 2016, with Studio LAN handing the animation production. Crunchyroll also streamed the series as it aired in Japan, with each episode running for 11 minutes.
The sequel series, To Be Heroine, aired in May 2018, with Studio LAN and Haoliners Animation League in charge of the animation production. Haolin previously directed both of these series.
