A new PV trailer has been unveiled for the upcoming UniteUp! -Uni:Birth- TV anime series. The second season of UniteUp! will begin broadcasting in Japan on January 11, 2025.
Shinichiro Ushijima (I Want To Eat Your Pancreas) is returning to direct the second season, with Team Kizunya as series screenwriter, and Majiro (Macross Delta co-character designer) as character designer. CloverWorks is in charge of the animation production.
Other staff include Michiru Itabisashi (My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 9 director) as assistant director, Hidekazu Yamana (Amazing Stranger) as sub-character designer, and Levin Aoi (returning) as character design assistant.

The first season of the male idol UniteUp! anime series aired from January 2023 to April 2023 for 12 episodes.
The anime is part of Sony Music Entertainment Japan’s UniteUp! male idol multimedia project, which was described as a “next dimensional idol project” that was initially launched in December 2021. An anime series was first announced at Aniplex Online Fest 2022.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the UniteUp! anime outside of Japan, describing the main synopsis as:
“I’m going to be an idol…?” Akira Kiyose is a high school student who loves to sing. His songs were published to a video sharing site as the internet singer “KIKUNOYU”. One day, he is scouted by the entertainment agency “sMiLea Production” after they hear his singing voice. The agency was established to nurture up-and-coming idols by the legendary idol duo “Anela” after they suddenly retired. Akira forms a group with Banri Naoe and Chihiro Isuzugawa, who were also scouted. The three online singers are inspired by the idols “LEGIT” and “JAXX/JAXX”, also belonging to the same agency, and aim to make their idol debut with their own thoughts and feelings in mind…!
