A special PV has been released for the Detective Conan anime series’ upcoming two-part “Ranpotei Satsujin Jiken” episode.

“Ranpotei Satsujinjiken” (“Ranpo Manor Murder Case”) is a special collaboration episode that commemorates the 130th birthday of mystery author Ranpo Edogawa. (As the start of the PV reminds us, protagonist Shinichi Kudo came up with the name “Conan Edogawa” for his transformed self by combining Edogawa’s surname with the middle name of Arthur Conan Doyle.) The first part will air on November 16 JST, with the second part following on November 23 JST.

Gosho Aoyama‘s Detective Conan (titled as Case Closed by Viz Media) manga began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in 1994 and has 106 tankoubon volumes as of October 2024. The TV anime premiered in 1996, and the first anime film was released in 1997.

Crunchyroll describes the anime series as:

The son of a world famous mystery writer, Shinichi Kudo, has achieved his own notoriety by assisting the local police as a student detective. He has always been able to solve the most difficult of criminal cases using his wits and power of reason.
