ODEX’s Singapore and Indonesian social media pages have announced the upcoming theatrical release of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club The Movie – Finale – Chapter 1 in the respective countries.
The anime movie is the first in a trilogy that will conclude the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club anime series. It premiered in Japan on September 6 JST, and Chapter 2 is planned for a winter 2025 release.
Chapter 1 sees Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Ema, and Lanzhu heading to Okinawa after the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club receives an invitation to the Idol GPX (Grand Prix). The Idol GPX’s participants’ compete as individuals, and Ayumu has conflicted feelings about battling against her friends.
Prior to the movie trilogy, there were two TV anime seasons which aired in 2020 and 2022, a 2023 sequel OVA, and a two-season short anime adaptation of the Nijiyon spin-off. Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is one of the titles in the Love Live! multimedia franchise.

Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club‘s starting cast was announced in 2017 as part of the now-defunct Love Live! School Idol Festival game’s PERFECT Dream Project anniversary project. The original voice of the character Setsuna Yuki, Tomori Kusunoki, left her role on March 31, 2023 JST due to medical reasons.
