Tsukasa Hojo‘s Cat’s Eye manga is inspiring a new anime that will debut on Disney+ in 2025.
Ado is performing the theme song of the show, which is previewed in a “Special Teaser Movie.” It is a cover of the “CAT’S EYE” opening song from 1983’s Cat’s Eye anime.
The Cat’s Eye manga follows three sisters, who are art thieves that steal the works of their lost father. It ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1981 to 1984 and later received a special one-shot in 1985. Eighteen tankoubon volumes were originally published under the Jump Comics label.
The manga previously inspired two television anime seasons, a 1997 live-action film adaptation, and more. Cat’s Eye has received crossovers with other titles like City Hunter (the manga was also created by Hojo) and Lupin the 3rd.
