A new key visual and PV trailer have been revealed for the ongoing second season of MF GHOST. The second season first began airing in Japan on October 6, 2024 and the upcoming eighth episode will debut coming Sunday on November 24, 2024.
This is the second new visual to be revealed for the series, highlighting the “Round 3: The Peninsula Manazuru” story arc.

Taku Yashiro has also been cast in the series as a new rival from Canada named Sena Moroboshi.
He joins a main voice cast that includes:
- • Yuma Uchida as Kanata Katagiri/Kanata Rivington
- • Ayane Sakura as Ren Saionji
- • Daisuke Ono as Shun Aiba
- • Hiroshi Kamiya as Mikhail Beckenbauer
- • Ryota Osaka as Koki Sawatari
The second season reprises staff from the first season, including Tomohito Naka (New Initial D the Movie Legend 3: Dream, New Initial D the Movie Legend 2: Racer) as director, Kenichi Yamashita (Hensuki: Are You Willing to Fall in Love with a Pervert, as Long as She’s a Cutie?) as series screenwriter, Naoyuki Onda (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, Inuyashiki) as character designer and co-chief animation director, and Akio Tobashi (New Initial D the Movie Legend trilogy) as music composer. Felix Film is in charge of the animation production for the series once again, with directrain co-producing the CG animation production.
The first season of MF GHOST aired during the Fall 2023 season from October 2023 until December 2023. It was streamed via Crunchyroll and Ani-One Asia ULTRA outside of Japan.
The anime is based on the Initial D sequel manga series by Shuichi Shigeno, which was first serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine on September 4, 2017 and has released 21 tankobon volumes as of October 2024.

Kodansha USA releases the MF Ghost manga in English, describing the main synopsis as:
In a near future where cars have mostly switched over to sustainable power, combustion engine racing is a rarity. The MFG is the last major race for this dying breed, and half-Japanese Kanata Rivington has come back to try his luck. But that’s not all he’s come to Japan to do…he’s searching for his father, too. Can even the ambitious Kanata accomplish all he’s set out to do?
