The OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl anime adaptation has received a third trailer and a second key visual. A January 4 (effectively January 5 at 1 AM JST) premiere was revealed as well.
Also announced was a crowdfunding campaign that will take place from December 13, 12 PM JST to March 30, 11:59 PM JST in collaboration with the Okinawan city Uruma. The campaign largely aims to promote tourism by helping to fund initiatives like a map of the locations seen in the anime, Augmented Reality versions of the story’s two heroines as guides, and anime bus wrap designs.
OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl is based on a manga by Egumi Sora, which began serialization on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch in 2020 and will release its ninth tankoubon volume on January 8, 2025 JST. It follows Teruaki Nakamura, a transfer student who has trouble understanding the Okinawan dialect of his crush, Hina Kyan. Their classmate, Kana Higa, serves as an interpreter for Teruaki.
